Intro To Fine Arts
An introductory exploration of the visual arts and art history, designed to familiarize students with major artistic mediums, techniques, movements, and historical periods. The course examines how artists have used materials such as drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and mixed media to communicate ideas and reflect the cultures and societies in which they lived. Students will explore significant works of art from different time periods, learn foundational art vocabulary and concepts, and develop an understanding of how artistic styles and practices have evolved over time. Through the study and discussion of artworks, students will gain a broader appreciation for the role of art in history, culture, and everyday life.
Ceramics 1 & 2
An introduction to the fundamentals of working with clay and creating three-dimensional ceramic artwork. Students will learn basic hand-building techniques, including pinch, coil, and slab construction, while developing an understanding of form, structure, texture, and surface design. The course will introduce students to essential ceramic processes such as preparing and conditioning clay, joining and assembling pieces, glazing, and firing. Through hands-on projects and creative exploration, students will develop their technical skills, artistic expression, and understanding of ceramics as both a functional craft and a fine art medium.
Drawing & Animation
Drawing & Animation: An introductory course that combines traditional drawing skills with digital animation techniques. Students will develop foundational drawing skills, including character design, gesture, proportion, composition, and visual storytelling, while learning the basics of Adobe creative software used for digital art and animation. Through hands-on projects, students will transform their original drawings and creative ideas into animated works, exploring concepts such as movement, timing, sequencing, and editing.
