Mount St. Mary Academy empowers young women to succeed.
We offer a nurturing environment with small classes and a dedicated faculty who know each student individually. Our rigorous academics, including AP and college-credit courses, are complemented by a vibrant arts program, diverse athletics, and numerous extracurricular activities. Students explore their passions, develop leadership skills, and grow in their faith, preparing them for a successful future.
It has been shown that learning in an all-girl environment:
Enhances self-esteem
Drives students to pursue leadership positions
Increases confidence and the desire to succeed
Both inside and outside the classroom at Mount St. Mary Academy, our girls take center stage. Their voices and opinions matter; they assert their thoughts and gain confidence. We nurture their unique gifts and encourage them to develop resiliency and belief in themselves. We prepare them to be strong young women for whatever the future holds.
Research tells us that single-sex education for young women builds confidence, positive identity, leadership skills and high academic achievement. But what does that mean? Simply stated, more cooperation, discussion, acceptance of diversity, encouragement and authentic feedback.
Single-sex schools allow students to focus more on their accomplishments, less on appearance and popularity. All-girls schools allow students to take on every leadership role, and level the playing field for women/girl students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Girls’ schools counter gender-stereotyping in subject choices, and post-graduate paths.
