The Flexibility of a Bequest
Ways to Give: Choosing the Right Bequest for You
There are several ways to structure your legacy gift, depending on your financial and personal goals:
- Specific Bequest: You name a specific, identifiable asset (like a car or real estate) or designate a precise dollar amount to give to MSM.
- Percentage Bequest: You designate a specific percentage of your overall estate to be left to the Mount.
- Residual Bequest: Your gift consists of the remaining balance of your estate after all specific bequests have been distributed to other beneficiaries.
- Restricted Bequest: You direct your donated assets to a very specific area, program, or initiative within the school.
- Contingent Bequest: Your gift is made to MSM only if your primary benefactors are no longer alive at the time of your passing.
