Academic Learning Center

Empowering Students for Success

The Academic Learning Center is a place where students can find academic reinforcement and/ or resources to support their academic experience. This is an important space in our school community, where students with additional learning needs can receive instructional accommodations and study skills support.

We are proud to have a full-time Special Education teacher on our faculty who works closely with our students with IEP or 504 plans, and also supports our faculty in utilizing best practices in the classroom to support all students. We also have Math and ELA intervention specialists and after school tutors who can provide further support.

We also have a dedicated testing room that provides a quiet, separate space to meet testing accommodations detailed in student learning plans.

Other learning services we provide include:

  • Resources to improve individual studying and test-taking skills and strategies
  • Additional Special Education services coordinated with our public home district Kenmore-Tonawanda schools
  • Organizational and time management strategies
  • Summer Academic Readiness programs
  • Tutoring with National Honor Society peers
  • Full-time school social worker to support social, emotional needs
  • Multi-subject resource support utilizing technology such as Microsoft Surface apps, Apple TV, and study games
